Just loving the ride!

So a little late, but this is a Mother's day photo, I am praying for another addition to our family by this next Mother's Day!! We are so richly blessed! We have been very busy with the end of the school year. Max is now 7 and officially a 2nd grader! Emma is 5 and officially a kindergartener!! Samuel is 2 and when I have to say he is 3 it is going to hurt bad. We are having a great start to our summer. We have been keeping track of all of the activity or non-activity in Ethiopia. The courts are still not approving any adoptions of abandoned children in Addis Ababa. We are praying for all of the families that are caught up in all of this. In good news, our last updated number (and probably will be our last official update due to agency changes) was 93. We have moved from 108 to 93 very quickly. We know of several other referrals since this last update, so our best guess is that we are around 88. It is interesting to see how we progress, so that we will be able to make educated guesses on when our daughter will be born. It is possible she is already born, but we are guessing her mother may be pregnant right now, worrying about how she will take care of her child, maybe she is ill, malnourished or poverty stricken. We are thinking of this family and other families that have to give their children up for adoption, for reasons beyond their control. It is hard to place ourselves in their situations, looking at our children and thinking of having to go on living without them is inconcievable. We pray for all of these families. Maybe our daughter has not been concieved as of yet. In any circumstance, we already know that we will never be complete without you! Many well happy healthy wishes to everyone!!!

We are officially waiting!

So we get an e-mail last week saying that our dossier is back from Washington and that we are officially waiting. We are on the list, finally!! Our official date on the list is May 1 2009, just imagine 7 years ago I was thinking about having our first baby. Now we are waiting on our 4th baby.We are 108 on the waiting list as of May 1. I hope this number will change very frequently. It's amazing how much changes in such a short/long time. In some ways it seems like just yesterday we were expecting Max and in some ways it seems like an eternity ago. It is hard to imagine life with just Kent and I. I am so thankful to have the wonderful children we have and looking forward to the day that we will be complete with our daughter.
I tried to upload a photo slideshow, just to showcase what we have been up to the last little bit, I am not the computer genius of our family so we will see if it works or not. We will update as we know more. Thanks for following along on our journey!
